For In-Person Gatherings This packet provides the detailed plan for Lighthouse Church of Independence members and guests to return to in-person gatherings at our physical location. We are doing our very best to come up with the safest plan for all, but we do understand if you would like to continue to worship from your home through our livestream. We will continue to offer livestream video at The Lighthouse Church of Independence Page on Facebook.
Currently, this plan is only in place through the month of June. The following details will begin with our first set -of in-person gatherings on this Sunday, May 17th, and it will go through Sunday, June 28th. At the end of the month, new information will be released with clear guidelines for how we will safely approach July.
● Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30. Live Stream will be available.
● Wednesday evenings will remain strictly online with no midweek in-person gatherings. We will continue our online Bible study at 7:00 p.m. Please continue to tune in and also share the links with your friends and family
Time to Sign up: We pray that you will be patient with us throughout this process as we aim to return to in-person gatherings, while still adhering to guidelines and recommendations from public health officials. Your safety and comfort are of utmost importance. To ensure proper social distancing, we will only allow 40 people (counting both adults and children) into each service. We ask that you first sign up for the 10:00am service and then once that fills up we will be prepared for the 12:30pm if the need is there, so you want to sign up ASAP. To sign up please email Sis. Porter at email@example.com giving her your name, how many will be attending this is first come first serve. We will be monitoring those emails and then communicate how the 12:30pm sign up will work. Again, we know this is not ideal, but please understand our desire to worship together while still keeping everyone safe and at ease. It will not be like this forever.
What about our
Children & Student Ministries
If you have kids, you know this fact: Kids do not know how to practice social distancing. They touch everything, lick things, and put strange things in their mouths. It’s just the way it is. For this reason, for services through the month of June, as we ease back in to in-person gatherings, we will not be offering any form of children or student ministries. We will re-evaluate this for July. This means that our entire lower level will remain closed. We ask that our teachers and staff do not open any classrooms or the kitchen during this time. There will be no Little Lights classes.
Service Format: Our Sunday services will be shorter than our typical services so hopefully your kids will be able to handle them better.
Our Greeters will still be opening doors for you and greeting you with a smile, but we will skip the handshakes and hugs, at least for now. So please don’t be offended because we do still love you! All important reminders will be available both online at our website @ lhupc.org and through our e-mails that we continue to send (email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make sure you’re on our email list).
Tithes and Offerings
We will still take a moment in the course of our service to acknowledge the way we worship God through our giving, but now through June, we will not be calling ushers to come forward and collect money using collection plates. We will continue to use this month to encourage online giving @ https://lhupc.org/online-giving. For those who prefer to pay by cash or check you can fill out a tithing envelope and just hand it to Pastor or Sis. Barlow.
Our services will offer the praise team.
Our cleaning teams will be following a strict set of guidelines from the CDC as they help us prepare for each weekend service. The building will be cleaned prior to our Sunday morning services. We will sanitize and wipe down all handles, traffic areas, and even the tops of chairs. Your safety means the world to us!
For Those Who May Be Sick
It is pretty easy… please just stay home. If you have a cough, fever, or any type of feeling of being ill, please just play it safe and stay home to take care of yourselves and protect others.
We want you to know up front that we are welcoming people into our building whether they are wearing masks or not. Feel free to wear yours (no one will make comments to you), but please don’t chastise others if they choose not to wear one. For elderly, or those with health issues, we strongly suggest wearing a mask for your protection. We will have masks available for those who would like them.
We ask that all individuals who are not family members please practice six feet of social distancing. We will have markers in the foyer and sanctuary that help remind us about this practice, but please remember it also as you choose your seat for the service. There will be a slide on our projection screen kindly reminding you about social distancing. Families are encouraged to sit close to one another, so it leaves seats for others.
As most of you know
Most of us want to reach our next destination in God with no resistance and simply have smooth sailing all the way there to that other side. We just want to simply get to our next phase in Him, we say, “Just on to the next miracle Lord.” But what we need to realize is that God has things He wants to do inside of us on our journey there. I want to share with you that there are some great things that God wants to do in your life long before you ever get to that next place in Him. Don’t miss this Sunday’s Word. Before You Get To The Other Side
What made Joshua so different? The majority of the Israelites were murmurers and complainers. The majority had no faith and simply wanted to go back to being slaves. Why was Joshua different? That is a question that I have pondered for many years and I believe that the Lord has revealed to me the answer. It is an answer that will empower you in your own life like never before. Get ready for this Sunday is going to tremendously impact your life with this Word!
This Saturday night from 7pm till Midnight will be our men’s prayer shut in. It will be a great time of prayer, powerful lessons to grow you as men of God and great unity among us. Would like everyone to participate and take part in going deeper in God. Pastor Barlow
